The Themis installation at terraXcube intends to give voice to the elements of nature – air, water, earth and fire – whose complex and delicate interaction creates and sustains life, but which can also destroy it if not kept in balance. For millions of years, living beings have evolved by adapting to these interconnected elements; now the sudden changes in climate no longer give them the chance to adapt quickly enough, and we need to grasp the urgent message they are trying to convey to us. However, as we have neither their language nor their sense of time, the immersive experience helps us get to the heart of the sense underpinning these changes, so as to raise our awareness and protect our environment by restoring a natural balance.
